It is hard to describe with words how wonderful and special the College Training in Champaign was. Seeing so many young people gathered together to enjoy the Lord and listen to His current speaking brings me unspeakable joy. I believe that the Lord really touched each one of us personally and gave a desire to follow Him in the absolute way!
During the National College Training there was one verse that was coming to me again and again,
But Noah found grace in the sight of Jehovah. Gen 6:8
Noah was one of the age-turners, he was a man “who found grace in the sight of Jehovah”. I am sure that without God’s grace no one of us (almost 1800 saints, mainly college students) could participate in such a crucial event in God’s move on the earth, which surely was the National College Training in Champaign. I am so thankful to the Lord that we found grace in His sight.
In Matthew 24:37 we read that Lord Jesus said such words about His second return: “For just as the days of Noah were, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.” The world we live in today is pretty the same as the World in the days of Noah. In Genesis 6 we read that “the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (v. 5), “the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence” (v. 11). Only the people who find grace in the sight of Jehovah are able to stand against such dark and degraded environment.
The Lord wants to return soon, but whether or not He will find a way in this generation depends on whether or not there are absolute people in this generation. In these last days before the Lord’s coming, we must be those who have great resolutions in heart and great searchings of heart (Judg. 5:15-16). We have to be absolute for God to be the overcomers. We cannot be lukewarm. Otherwise the Lord will spew us out of His mouth (Rev. 3:15-16). God only use those who are absolute for Him.
Nevertheless, being absolute for God is something that we would never be able to carry out on our own. We have to praise the Lord for His life in us and for His grace! Grace empowers us to do what we could never do. It is God Himself, dispensing His nature into us and producing faith in us! Because of Christ – our High Priest – we can come forward with boldness to the throne of grace, to receive mercy and find grace for timely help (Heb. 4:15-16). Praise the Lord, today we live in the age of grace!
Daniel was one of the age-turners and he was absolute for God. But absoluteness wasn’t the only attribute of his overcoming life. The person of Daniel shows us further important aspects of such life. Like Daniel, we need to read God’s Word regularly and be joined to God’s Word. We can also see the importance of this matter in the New Testament. Paul wrote to Timothy about all Scripture being God-breathed and profitable, “that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work” (2 Tim 3:17).
Daniel also shows us a pattern of a man of prayer:
Now when Daniel came to know that the writing had been signed, he went to his house (in his upper room he had windows opened toward Jerusalem) and three times daily he knelt on his knees and prayed and gave thanks before his God, because he had always done so previously. Dan. 6:10
Moreover, Daniel wasn’t alone in his generation. He had companions. Today we also need the other saints. We need to pursue with those “who call on the name of the Lord out of a pure heart” (2 Tim 2:22).
If our life will be committed to these three things: being absolute, being constituted with God’s Word and being a man of prayer, and if we will pursue with the other saints, the Lord will be able to use us as His dispensational instrument to turn this age.
By the Lord’s grace we will become His living overcomers on the earth today, the young people who are not ashamed to be Jesus lovers, who walk with Him and know the desire of His heart! When He will find such living testimony among us, He will surely come back soon!
