At this year’s National College Training I believe that the Lord claimed for Himself a group of young people who will turn the age. 1800 serving ones and students came together to receive a clear vision from the Lord. Many brothers imparted strong burdens into the trainees there. One of the burdens was the matter of becoming men of prayer.
The age-turners in the Bible had many things in common, one of which was prayer. For example, Daniel set times to pray everyday, and Samuel always prayed for the people. I enjoyed most the example that Samuel set in regards to prayer. After the people asked Samuel to set a king over them, they came to Samuel to ask that He pray for them to forgive them of their sin.
1 Sam. 12:23 – Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I would sin against Jehovah by ceasing to pray for you, but I will instruct you in the good and right way.
Prayer lays the tracks for God to move. For Samuel, prayer was so normal and vital that he considered it to be a sin if he stopped. When we allow our spirit to be the leading part in us, we will spontaneously become men of prayer.
In every matter, we need to pray, regardless of our feeling. Before we speak to people, we must speak to God. Before we go to campus, we must go to the Lord. In everything, we must be men of prayer.
