Exodus 25:8 And let them make a sanctuary for Me that I may dwell in their midst.
I really enjoyed that God wants us to make a home for Him so that may be His corporate dwelling place; and this home is in our hearts!
When we enter the outer court of the tabernacle, the first thing we come across is the altar. This is where we are judged and nothing condemned can get past. This means we are ultimately not allowed to pass and enter God’s building, for we are natural beings of flesh and sin.
But the three steps to passing the altar are judgement, redemption, and consecration. God has actually already judged us and, if we want to pass, we just need to agree with Him, confess, and then we are redeemed!
To enter God’s building, we need to bring an offering. What is this offering? The richest and sweetest thing – Christ! This means that when we go to the Lord’s Table meeting, we should not go empty-handed; we should bring our enjoyment of Christ!
The boards of the tabernacle are made of acacia wood overlaid with gold. The acacia wood signifies Christ’s humanity, strong in character and high in standard, and the gold signifies the divine nature.
Each of the boards are one and a half cubits wide. This means that two boards make three cubits in width, a complete number! This is like us: we should not do things by ourselves in the church life, but with a companion.
I also really enjoyed that in order for the Lord to return, we need a strong testimony in Europe! We need a church in every city, and we need to be the pillars for His dwelling place.
Lord, raise up local churches across Europe to make us Your pillars and pillar-builders, so that You may return!
