I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
We don’t have to be super-Christians, we don’t have to be particularly strong; God gave us just a little power – in order to use it as best as we can. Once we will use it, God – and therefore us – will be pleased.
As the Life teaches us, every human being has had the experience of failure in the course of his life. In particular, as believers, we can see that even after being saved, it is very easy to fall again into the cycle of sin and temptation – pride, jealousy and temper come back again, working to make us extremely discouraged.
But then we don’t have to suppress ourselves. This would mean not to be satisfied, but frustrated. The Bible shows us that the life that God ordains for a Christian is one that is filled with peace and joy. God wants us to be cheerful, and the only way through which we can stop committing sin and being happy is by eating God every day as the tree of life to enjoy Him and to breath Him.
We don’t have to be attracted by the tree of knowledge, the tree of good and evil: once we will try it, we will easily fall into the darkness. The tree of life can provide us everything we need. It is everything we’ve dreamed of. It is nothing we expect.
Everything else, in terms of joy and happiness, will come as a consequence. Praise the Lord!
