In Everything the Lord is Preparing us to be His Age-Turners #NCT2015

In Everything the Lord is Preparing us to be His Age-Turners #NCT2015It’s been almost 2 months since the 2015 National College Training, and the Lord is still speaking to us day by day and He’s touching us concerning His need. God needs the overcomers, our dear Lord Jesus lovers! May the Lord gain us more each day and make us today’s age turner.

All the messages were very striking and enlightening, as if the Lord was speaking to every one of us through the brothers. I was touched by message four:

Age – turners in the New Testament (1): John the Baptist and Peter.

Peter was one of the age-turners in the New Testament. He, as the first great fisher of men, used two keys of the kingdom to open the door of the kingdom to the Jews and the Gentiles by his preaching of the gospel. Peter saw the vision concerning the Lord Jesus being the Christ, the Son of the living God; after this vision the Lord said to him, “I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of the heavens” (Matt. 16:16, 19).

Not long after Peter saw the highest revelation, he fell to the lowest abyss. Peter denied the Lord three times despite his previous claim that he would never deny the Lord’s name. After the third denial, the rooster crowed, Jesus looked at him, and Peter remembered what the Lord had said to him. And he went out and wept bitterly. Peter might have thought that it was the end of the world. He could never fix his problem again since the Lord was dead. The Lord might have already forsaken him. However, on the day of resurrection, the Lord wanted the women to tell the disciples and Peter about His resurrection. What an encouraging word! The Lord did not forget Peter!

In our Christian life, we may have lots of ups and downs, and we may have many hard times and certain trials. However, the Lord’s heart is so good toward us. In everything He is preparing us to be His age turners.

Although Peter made the most mistakes, he eventually became jasper, a precious stone, the first layer of the foundation of the New Jerusalem. We need to realise that the Lord is transforming us from men of clay to precious stones. This is not a one-time event. It may take a period of time. We need to know that just enjoying the Lord in the Word is not enough to be transformed into precious stones. We also need some heat, pressure, and time.

Luke 22:31-32 Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has asked to have you all to sift you as wheat. But I have made petition concerning you that your faith would not fail; and you, once you have turned again, establish your brothers.

Saints, let us not be discouraged by our failures. The Lord loves us and He understands us. He is making petition concerning us that our faith will not fail. When we fail, all we must do is just confess and go on enjoying Him.

O Lord Jesus, thank You for Your love and petition. Thank You that You will always remember us by name. Lord, keep us open to You. Even if we fail continually, do keep us in You. We are willing to be Your age-turners in this age. Gain us Lord!
