The subject of this year’s uni conference was: The Producing of the Overcomers! And one thing that really touched me was that our failures are a step towards overcoming!
2 Cor. 12:9 ” And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather boast in my weakness that the power of Christ might tabernacle over me.”
Failures are to cause us to lose all hope in ourselves and our self-efforts. Actually, the more we have failed and sinned, the easier it is for us to overcome, because we have truly seen the corruption of our flesh!
God’s view of us in the flesh is that we absolutely useless and hopeless! We also need to see ourselves as absolutely useless. If we have not seen ourselves as absolute uselessness, we will never accept the appraisal of the cross, and will will never be able to say that we are crucified with Christ or that is it no longer “I” who live. If there is still hope in us, it means we think we are still useful and we will not say “no longer I“.
There are four steps to experience the overcoming life:
- The first step: we need to REALIZE that we are not able
- The second step: we need to GIVE UP trying to make it (whenever we stop our work and “trying to overcome”, Christ will begin His work)
- The third step: we need to PRAISE God that we are not able to make it (our weakness affords Christ the opportunity to manifest His power in us..)
- The fourth step: we need to BELIEVE that we cannot make it, BUT GOD CAN MAKE IT!
There is only ONE Overcomer in the whole world , only the Lord is the Overcomer and victory is just Christ Himself. To be an overcoming is just CHRIST and CHRIST LIVING IN US! ” No longer I…. BUT CHRIST! ”
Gal. 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who lives, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
