Realise, give up, praise and believe! First of all we need to realise that our flesh is hopeless to God, that He has given up hope in us. If we carry on thinking that we can improve ourselves and keep on trying, the Lord will allow us to have a problem that we will not be able to overcome, to show us that we should give up.
On the way to Bower House from hospitality I was listening to a song in the car, “Most gladly therefore I will rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ might tabernacle over me.” The word “boast” in the song has the same meaning as “glory”. Paul considered his weaknesses to be his glory; when we are weak Christ’s power is able to dwell upon us.
We should praise God that we are unable to make it, and finally, we have to believe that God can! Once we believe in the Lord’s Word, the experience will follow, the feeling will follow, and the victory will follow.
