We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world!

We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world!

October 5th-7th 2012 could have been just another normal weekend, but something special happened. There was the Year 7-13 young people conference in Bower House. The Lord has made that weekend be memorable in our heart. Yes, it will also be in the divine history. Praise the Lord!

Here is a little of my enjoyment from the messages given during this time.

What are we?

“We are men! We are believers in Christ!”

Genesis 1:26 “And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.” Praise the Lord that He made us in His image and likeness, so that we, as man, can contain God and express Him!

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become a children of God, to those who believe into His name,” We are believers in Christ, and the Lord has made us children of God. These two verses (Gen 1:26 and John 1:12) are very meaningful. There are two key words from these verses: Dominion and Authority. It is not dominion or authority over man, but over the ruler of the world: Satan. We believers in Christ can represent God to rule over Satan. This is wonderful!

“We are the salt of the earth! We are the light of the world!”

Matt 5:13-14 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt has become tasteless, with what shall it be salted? It is no longer good for anything except to be cast out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. It is impossible for a city situated upon a mountain to be hidden.”

We may be touched by these two verses. We may know that the salt has it function of killing germs and preserving food, and that the light can shine through the darkness. But how about going one step further? Have you thought about why we are salt and light? O Lord Jesus, it is because we are in such a dark age and in this dark age death is everywhere, physical or spiritual. That’s why we need salt and light. Praise the Lord, we are salt and we are light. With Christ, we can practise our function as salt to kill the element of death and with Christ; we can shine in this dark age!

But what if the salt becomes tasteless? What if the light is hidden?

This is the danger for us. We don’t want to be tasteless salt. We don’t want to become the same as the earthly people and become indistinguishable from the unbelievers. We, as the light of the world, don’t want to be hidden by the anxiety of our daily living. The fact is that sometimes we are tasteless and hidden due to different things. Behind these things, Satan is there.

The way to jump out of these things, the way to become tasty and full of light, is to turn to the Lord, tell the Lord everything in our heart, and open to His dealing with your problems. The Lord can do more things than you can imagine.

If the Lord is all that you have, you have all your need.

My Personal Enjoyment

What I enjoyed the most this weekend was to see these little boys and girls enjoying the Lord! It is so good to see them at such a young age enjoying the Lord and exercising their spirit. They all know that God had made man with 3 parts: body, soul and spirit. They could just stand up in the meeting and share their enjoyment of Christ to all of us. It is so encouraging that the Lord is gaining the young people in such a young age.

I was so impressed that these 11 or 12 years old brothers and sisters who were jumping and running around, were also enjoying the Lord Christ Jesus. “I love the Lord Jesus… Lord, make me an overcomer.” This was spoken by an 11-year-old, a young believer in Christ Jesus. Praise the Lord!

The Lord has gained these young ones for His coming back. Personally I have just been saved and been enjoying the church life in the Lord’s recovery for one year. Spiritually, I am a year-old new-born baby. I praise the Lord that He arranged everything that I am enjoying the unsearchable and inexhaustible riches of the Lord Jesus Christ in the church life.
