I really enjoyed that we need to be at the top of the Mountain of God! This mountain has two names, mount Horeb (to those who are in the day) and mount Sinai (to those in the night).
Moses, at the top of the mountain, was in the day – in Gods presence. However, the children of Israel at the bottom of the mountain were trembling because from afar it seemed frightening.
O Lord! Help us to be at the top of the mountain!
Moses spent forty days and forty nights at the top of the mountain. Did it take God that long to inscribe the laws? No! Moses spent time with God there and he was being infused by God!
We are all like mirrors- whatever we put ourselves in front of we ultimately reflect. So when Moses put himself in front of God he reflected God!
2 Corinthians 3:18, But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.
I also enjoyed that “The highest profession on earth is to spend time being infused with God that we may shine forth God”. Amen!
When Moses came down from the mountain after being infused he was glowing so brightly that he had to be veiled. However, this was not the real reason – actually he veiled himself so that the children of Israel would not see that the glory of God was fading from his face.
Another point I enjoyed was that the Bible is God’s breath. Therefore, when we read the Bible, we are actually breathing Him in. Praise the Lord!
2 Timothy 3:16, All Scripture is God breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
We need to read the Bible daily so He can feed us His word as He fed the children of Israel with manna.
However, we shouldn’t look for emotions in the Bible, or read the Bible as a textbook. We should seek Christ! God wants loving seekers not law keepers – those who say what’s on their heart.
