Abiding in the Lord and having Real Experiences of Christ (2025 Fall Uni Training)

And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. Gen 1:26

The topic of the 2025 Fall University Training was, Abiding in Christ. Abiding means that you remain somewhere. As believers, we know that the Lord is abiding in our spirit, and He is always available for us to contact and enjoy His person.

This is why we are always able to pray to God for our needs and situations, which increases our love and faith in Him. Although eventually we need to see that our Lord also has a need, and He needs us to carry out His plan and purpose. God’s purpose is that we would become a full-grown man in His image.

Gen 1:26 – And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

However due to man’s fall, we have been blinded by the god of this age and are unable to carry out God’s plan. Which is why this matter of abiding in Christ is very important for us to not just know but also to see and carry out God’s intention here on earth.

We saw in the messages that the matter of consecration is very important not only for us but also for the Lord. The meaning of consecration is to be a sacrifice. However, we cannot sacrifice according to our own value or situation; first, we must allow the Lord to work on us. By doing so we will truly be able to appreciate the supreme preciousness of Christ, and realise that no person, matter or thing is more precious than the Lord Jesus as the treasure within us.

Phil 3:8 – But moreover I also count all things to be loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as refuse that I may gain Christ.

In this way we can drop our concepts and waste ourselves upon the Lord, which is well pleasing to Him. I just appreciated that we ourselves do not know how to consecrate ourselves to the Lord, but the Lord paid a price so that we would be able to live a life of consecration according to the Lord Himself. Now we need to live a life of taking Christ as the burnt offering (a type of Christ that is absolutely for God), so that we could be joined with Him, and all His virtues become ours.

But moreover I also count all things to be loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as refuse that I may gain Christ. Phil 3:8During this training we also had the opportunity to join the FTTL classes and get a taste of what it would be like to be in the full time training. The subject we covered in our classes were on the experience of Christ as life.

Overall, the messages were all very enjoyable and made me realise how much more I need to experience Christ in my daily living. One point that stood out to me is that the real experience of life is God himself. When I think about the experience of life, I associate it with outward matters such as my family life, uni life or just interacting with different people.

Then as a Christian, I have a feeling within me that in these situations I have to present myself as a good and formal person. However, oftentimes when I have this kind of mindset, there is no sense of a flow of life within me and instead I’m just left with thoughts and worries in my mind about my behaviour.

So I was encouraged by the word that the real experience of life is Christ himself. And this is very true as in the home meeting, someone might ask me, ‘what have you enjoyed of Christ this week’ and I have nothing to say even if I’ve been reading my morning revival or bible and had a good week, I did everything apart from Christ.

But normally at the end of conferences or training like this I have a list of things that I have enjoyed because I have been enjoying real experiences of Christ as He becomes more subjective to me.

The apostle Paul also testified to this in Romans 7:19 – For I do not do the good which I will; but the evil which I do not will, this I practice. We need Christ to experience life and be able to discern the real experiences of life. By receiving Christ into our heart, we will have a sense of life and peace and be able to carry out His work.

Overall this training was very enjoyable and I would highly recommend it to other university students to go if they have the chance. I feel much more prepared and confident going into my next year of uni as I’m learning to depend on the Lord.

O Lord, we give You this next year of university. Have a way to flow throughout all the campuses. Lord capture many new ones. Lord may we be those who just go on experiencing and enjoying the Lord and all His riches.
